Maturity and Beyond

written by see Huiwen 16-10-2 009

The finger crooks, arches, beckons

One fiery tempest

From loins deep within

The crave to savour the obscurity

Attention, a hunger pang.

A crackling, a scattering

Sparks ignite

It flickers, unsteady

Stumbling footsteps wafting

Tendrils of grey curling

The sentiments,

Remnants of the traces of youthful innocence.

Mother nature awakens,

Pregnant

Symptoms-a childhood rebellion

Agony emaciated

The birth of a child’s maturity

She opens her mouth,

First cries.

The rendering need of her presence known,

The fuel to the fireflies.

It silently diminishes,

Then bursting forth in full splendor

The simple complexity of eyes unveiled.

Crimson blossoms on white sheets darken

A simple recognition

A stunning revelation sets in.

Grappling, struggling, silence,

Sole rat race of social climb.

Acquaintances alight

Another soft butterfly touch

A whisper, gone

Reality, a losing game

Trickling, seeping, suffocating

Conscience muffled, reined

Features contorted into an anguish scream

A round silent O

Epitome of greed

It cackles, withers

The serpent of human’s nature

The bruise of mankind’s heel

Nay, but folly.

Venom drips from honeyed words

Plastered smiles,

Mannequins, abundant

Stiff-backed, composed severe

Humanity-a drawn void

If only it would means survival

A lost soul, a robbed identity

Faceless masks

Meaningless coagulation of senseless words

An overriding eclipse.

The peeking age of the sun

Realization hits

Wizened.

Your life clocks fades in,

Flickers,

At the end if the dark tunnel.

Ominous, oblivious

Its silent ticking haunts,

The ghost of her lost youth.

Ha!

Age laughs you in the face.
